Guidelines used for filling vacant assistantship positions in Biomedical Engineering Program

Graduate teaching assistantships are awarded to graduate students who are admitted and enrolled, by the starting date of their appointment, in the Biomedical Engineering Program. The number of available assistantships depends on the needs of the program and the available funds. Students who are awarded assistantship must have good academic standing and excellent communication skills. Selection of appointment is based on academic standing and on the knowledge in the specific field of the vacant assistantship position. Graduate assistantships are usually granted for no more than two years (24 months). Extension of assistantships will be considered under special circumstances and must have approval of the Graduate School.

Graduate assistantships supported by grant funds (research assistantships) are awarded by faculty members who received the funds.
