Development of HVDC technology. Static power conversion. Harmonic elimination. Control of HVDC systems. Interaction between AC and DC systems. Fault development and protection. HVDC systems based on the voltage sourced inverter.

Study of the commutation overlap using Simulink modeling.

AC filter design; use Simulink to verify the outcome.

Control system design for an HVDC link; linearized system representation; constant current and constant voltage converter control;. Simulink representation of the complete system.
