Faculty Positions
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Southern Illinois University Carbondale
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering invites applications for three faculty positions, at the rank of Assistant Professor, one in each of the following three areas: (a) Microelectronics with emphasis on Digital VLSI Circuit Design (b) Software Systems with emphasis on Real-Time Embedded Systems, Embedded Software or Software Engineering (c) Communications and Networking. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree (at the time of appointment) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field, a demonstrated ability for excellence in teaching and potential for high quality research documented by technical publications. Individuals currently working toward their Ph.D. degree and expecting to graduate by August 15, 2008 will be considered for interview. Department provides support and excellent opportunities for the development of new faculty. Consideration of applications will begin on March 16, 2008 and will continue until position is filled. Effective date of employment is August 16, 2008.
