Student Accommodations:

This years NAPS will be able to provide free accommodations to all students who have registered early. Students will be sharing a hotel room with one other fellow student. We are currently in the process of making room reservations. If you haven't already done so, please let us know very soon your name and sex (lanac@siu.edu) . Soon you will be notified of your hotel and roommate's name. You do not need to make reservations. Initial accommodations are provided for Sunday and Monday (overnight stays). Some of you may have scheduling conflicts and require an extended stay (e.g. flights arriving earlier than Sunday or leaving later than Monday). If this is the case, we can extend your reservation for Saturday and/or Tuesday nights. Please contact Ms. Lana Campbell lanac@siu.edu to make the arrangements.

Student Paper Competition:

NAPS-2006 will hold a Student Paper Contest. All papers where the first author is a student qualify for the contest and they are entered automatically upon submission. Therefore no special application is needed. A faculty (e.g. the student advisor) can be one of the authors but not the first author of the paper.

Both graduate and undergraduate students may participate. To win, the paper must be presented by the student. The winners will be selected after the completion of presentations. Prizes for the best papers include:

  • First Place:      $1,500

  • Second Place:  $1,000

  • Third Place:       $500
