“Making
Dreams A Reality”
The
Minority Engineering Program (MEP) is an academic support program designed to
increase the enrollment, retention, and graduation rate of ethnic minorities in
engineering. Initiated in 1985, we are committed to making the best
opportunities and programs available to minority students. We are unique because
we recognize and accommodate the diversity of our students' needs. MEP
emphasizes building a community based
on student-to-student relationships organized around the study of engineering.
We help students develop the ability and self-confidence they need to work
together to resolve problems, to improve their understanding of course material,
and to overcome the hidden barriers that can make it difficult for minority
engineering students to succeed. The Minority Engineering Program offers
students educational enrichment, interaction with faculty, and support from
peers who share similar experiences.
SIUC’s

fields:
All
engineering programs are accredited by the Engineering Accredited Commission of
the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (EAC/ABET). We also offer
Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Manufacturing Systems, as well
as a Ph.D. program in engineering science.
The college of engineering is committed to excellence. Our student body is
