Overview
History
The first meeting of
the Illinois Mining Institute was held in Springfield February
1892 at the State Capital. During 1928 and 1929, plans were developed
for the permanent publication of the Institute's proceedings. The first
volume of the new PROCEEDINGS contained papers presented at the meetings,
minutes of the business meetings, IMI by-laws, membership list and 34
pages of advertising. This basic format has been followed ever since.
