Currently, the Department has about 19 undergraduate students (mainly juniors and seniors) and 21 graduate students specializing in various disciplines.
A majority of the students participate in the
Saluki Miners
, which is a student branch of the
national Society
for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration
.
Mining engineering students also participate in student branches of the National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and the Society of Women Engineers.
