To avoid the delay of your application, make sure you are submitting all the following materials in your application package:
- Application for Admission to Graduate Study.

A $45 application fee in American dollars payable to "SIUC".
- Official transcripts, including diplomas (carefully read the Transcript Guidelines above). International students who have not yet earned a Master's degree will be required to present their final Master's transcript and diploma to the Graduate School before they will be eligible to register for classes.
- Financial Statement (for international students only).
- A copy of your M.S. thesis abstract.
- TOEFL score. International students, permanent residents of the United States, and some citizens of the United States who are non-native speakers are required to meet the English requirement. TOEFL scores must be no more than 24 months old from the test date to date of admission. Students must have official TOEFL score report sent from ETS to the Graduate School. The institution code for SIUC is 1726. Please include a copy of your TOEFL score with your application materials.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation (must be in sealed and signed envelopes).
- GRE Scores.
- Statement of objectives and research that you wish to undertake (two page maximum).
- A copy of the page on your passport that lists your name, date of birth, and country of citizenship. This is required from international students and permanent residents of the United States
