Dr. Bruce DeRuntz, CQE is an Associate Professor in the Department of Technology. Dr. DeRuntz received his BS in Industrial Technology from Eastern Illinois University, his MS in Manufacturing Systems from SIUC, and his Ph.D. in Workforce Education and Development from SIUC. He joined the department in 1998 after a successful career as a Quality Professional in industry working for A.O. Smith Automotive Products, Emerson Electric Company and the Manufacturing Extension Program. He teaches classes in Manufacturing Processes, Quality Control, Industrial Metrology, and Manufacturing Policy.

His research interests are in Six Sigma Quality and Human Resource Development. He has received the department’s Outstanding Teacher Award and has also served on the Industry Division President for the National Association of Industrial Technology.
