The Capstone Option

If you are graduating from a two-year occupational program or with an Associates in Applied Science degree, you can be considered for the Capstone Option. This option offers transfer students an opportunity to build on already marketable occupational skills.  Capstone reduces the University Core Curriculum (UCC) (General Education) requirements from 41 to 30 semester hours enabling the completion of your bachelor's degree to be guaranteed in no more than 60 additional semester hours.  The Industrial Technology major at SIUC has been approved for the Capstone Option.

To apply for the Capstone option, complete both the Capstone application and the SIUC undergraduate admission application.  Your final transcripts must be submitted by the end of your second semester with SIUC.  Your A.A.S degree must be posted before the student earns more than 12 hours in their major with SIUC.  Submit both applications to the Engineering Outreach Programs office.
