Digital VLSI

Spring 2008

MWF 2:00-2:50 PM, EGRA 219

Course
description:

The goal of the course is to cover both fundamental and advanced topics in CMOS digital VLSI design. After successfully completing the course, it is expected that students will gain the necessary knowledge and hands-on experiences to design and layout basic digital circuits. To help students appreciate the complexity of modern VLSI design, the course materials will also cover new challenges in the design of interconnect, clock and power distribution, and ESD protection circuits. In addition to lectures, lab sessions and a class project will be used to help students learn the materials. Cadence EDA tools will be the primary CAD tool used in the lab sessions and the class project.
