Southern Illinois High Performance Computing Infrastructure (SIHPCI) has been fully operational since April 2010. The facility consists of 106 dual quad-core Dell PowerEdge R410 nodes running Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Each node has 8 (eight) 64-bit Intel Xeon 2.26 GHz E5520 CPUs and 8 GB of RAM and is supported by appropriate hardware. 90 TB of storage is installed behind Master Node. The goal of this project is to expand the scope and quality of research and education at SIUC in the areas of Computational Science and Engineering. Currently, SIHPCI is serving at least 20 faculty members, a number of researchers and students, and supporting 4 courses across the campus. If you work at SIUC and need an account, please contact Shaikh Ahmed (ahmed@siu.edu).
