Brief biography

Currently, I am serving as a professor in the School of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering in Southern Illinois University. I was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Princeton University from February 2014 to January 2016 under the supervision of Prof. H. Vincent Poor. I received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the University of Alberta under the supervision of Prof. Chintha Tellambura and Prof. Masoud Ardakani. My PhD thesis was based on research in design and analysis of wireless transmission strategies for cooperative relay networks. My current research interests include integrated sensing and communications, extremely large aperture arrays, intelligent reconfigurable surfaces, massive MIMO systems, physical layer security, deep-learning based physical-layer communication designs.

Dr. Baduge is the recipient of Early Career Faculty Excellence Award in 2021 from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. He has been serving as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Communications, IEEE Communication Letters, IEEE Wireless Communication Letters and IEEE Open Journal for Communications Society. He received the best editor appreciations from IEEE Communication Letters and IEEE Open Journal for Communications Society in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
